The Annual Strawberry Fest in Alva: Everything You Need to Know

As the days get longer and the temperatures start to rise, it's time to start planning for the annual strawberry fest in Alva. Hosted by the Alva Garden Club, this event is a great opportunity for gardeners and strawberry lovers to purchase live, healthy plants and enjoy a bowl of fresh strawberry pie. Here's all you need to know about the event.

When and Where

The strawberry fest will take place on Saturday, March 11th at the Alva Methodist Church, 21440 Pearl Street. The Alva boat ramp is close by, so you can easily get there by car, boat or bicycle.

The event will start at 9 in the morning and will last until late afternoon.

What to Expect

At the event, you'll find a variety of Florida-grown plants from members of the garden club, as well as beautiful specimens donated by local nurseries. Plant varieties vary and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Examples include azalea, bromeliad, hibiscus, succulents and herbs. In addition to plants, you can also enjoy a bowl of homemade strawberry pie baked by the members of the garden club. There will also be a wide selection of baked goods to take home.

Plus, you can search for used books and browse through a variety of craft vendors. To keep everyone entertained, there will be outdoor musicians and indoor theater artists. So no matter your age, you're sure to have a great time.

Sponsors

The event is sponsored by Ace Hardware, All American Gutter Protection, Advantage Restoration, Bad Boy Mowers and Bass Pro Shops. The Florida Government Public Utilities Authority, Lehigh Community Services and the Lehigh Acres Senior Center are also proud sponsors.

When

The strawberry fest will take place from February 29th to March 26th at the German American Club in Cape Coral.
